Here are some past projects that I have worked on. Click on the images for more screenshots.

Haus File Server

My roommates and I share a lot of files with each other, so we set up an internal fileserver and I coded a PHP/MySQL site to keep track of the files we uploaded. The site reads the files from a folder, adds the information to a MySQL database, and displays the files in a paginated listing sortable by name, date added, and file size. It features a log-in page with extra PHP security features and file uploading with AJAX (no reloading of the page!)

Vanessa and the Accident

Vanessa and the Accident was a video game programmed by myself and four other girls in a team for the Games 4 Girls competition. Programmed in Gamemaker, we created an RPG-style adventure, along with cutscreens for the story line and minigames.

Frontline

Frontline was a history-themed website about trench warfare, and winner of the 2008 Colonel Douglas H. Gunter Award. It was written in PHP and valid XHTML and CSS, and uses the SIFR flash typography technique. It also featured a web choose-your-own-adventure game written in PHP.

Naiad.info

Naiad.info was an educational blog running on Wordpress. It offered formatted study guides and articles, with a blog updated with fun facts. The layout was written in valid XHTML and CSS, with a folding Javascript menu.

Colourful Characters

When we had an excess of photos for our school yearbook, the advisor commissioned me to create a website to host the rest of the photos. I created a layout in XHTML and CSS to mimic the cover design, and processed thousands of photos into galleries that used Lightbox to display each picture.

Demon Robotics

During the 2007 season of the FIRST robotics competition, I was a programmer and web designer for the team at Kitsilano Secondary School. I designed the homepage for our team, and it was submitted for the web design aspect of the competition. The site used web standards-compliant XHTML and CSS, with Javascript used for a folding menu to improve usability. Alternate versions of the design were created for the club, and I created a custom PHP and MySQL photo gallery for the site, with automatic thumbnail creation and image resizing.
